Early on a crisp September morning, the villagers of Sleepy Hollow await their new schoolmaster, Ichabod Crane. His prim manners win the hearts of the ladies — especially Katrina Van Tassel — but spark jealousy in the boisterous Brom Bones. On a moonlit Halloween night, as the party wanes and Ichabod rides home alone, a fiendish apparition known as the Headless Horseman appears — and by morning, Ichabod is gone, destined to become part of the legend.
This production offers a perfect seasonal outing — part spooky storytelling, part theatrical charm. Whether you’re returning to the familiar legend or experiencing it for the first time, you’ll find yourself immersed in a world where legends have lives of their own. With solid performances by community‐talent and a venue that helps bring the atmosphere alive, Marshfield Community Theatre delivers both warmth and frisson.
