MCT Leadership Team
Meet the team working behind-the-scenes to keep things moving at MCT. Combining a mix of experiences, talents, and backgrounds, our leadership team brings the knowledge needed to continue MCT’s mission of providing a creative outlet for the arts in our community.
Board of Directors
Jenn Smith - Board President
Jenn currently serves as MCT’s President of the Board and has been a passionate supporter of theatre for many years. She joined MCT in 2011 as a volunteer “kid wrangler” for the organization’s first youth production, Willy Wonka. Since then, Jenn has held nearly every role at MCT, both on stage and behind the scenes, and is grateful for the opportunity to help the organization continue to grow as a community theatre with heart.
Jenn is a special education teacher at Webster Elementary and has worked for Marshfield Schools for 11 years. She and her husband are proud Marshfield graduates, and their two youngest children currently attend Marshfield schools. Four of their six children have performed on the MCT stage, while another has contributed by building sets and working in concessions.
A strong believer in giving back, Jenn has been the Youth Division Superintendent for the Webster County Fair for 19 years. She has also served as vice president of the local parent-teacher group, been a Girl Scout troop leader for nine years, and acted as Service Unit Manager for Webster County. Jenn is an active member of Marshfield United Methodist Church and has served in various roles, including Sunday School teacher.
Jenn deeply loves MCT and is honored to help guide and support the organization as it continues to grow, thrive, and serve the community she cares so deeply about.
Kira McShane - Board Vice President
Kira is a stay-at-home mother and part-time baker who brings creativity, flexibility, and a strong spirit of service to the Marshfield Community Theatre (MCT). In addition to managing the many responsibilities of home and family life, she operates her baking work with an eye for detail, creativity, and reliability—skills she also brings to her work with MCT.
She currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors at Marshfield Community Theatre, where she is actively involved in both leadership and hands-on support. Her contributions include assisting with a wide range of behind-the-scenes tasks such as prop and costume creation, helping with front-of-house operations during performances, and performing at fundraising events. She is known for her willingness to step in wherever help is needed and her positive, collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Kira became involved with Marshfield Community Theatre through her children, who auditioned for and were cast in Peter Pan Jr. What began as supporting her children quickly grew into a deep personal investment in the theatre. From that point forward, MCT became a true family affair, with each family member becoming involved in some capacity. This experience strengthened her belief in the power of community theatre to connect families, nurture creativity, and build lasting relationships.
Beyond the theatre, Kira is actively involved in her church community at Northside Christian Church in Springfield, Missouri. She serves on the worship team as a vocalist and is passionate about fostering musical growth in children. She teaches music classes for two- and three-year-olds and leads music instruction during the fall semester for the church’s annual children’s Christmas production, combining her musical background with her love for mentoring the next generation.
With a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Worship, Kira has a strong artistic foundation and a lifelong connection to performance. She is a singer and passionate performer who enjoys learning new skills and embracing new creative challenges, often approaching opportunities with the mindset of being willing to “try just about anything once.”
Deeply invested in community theatre, Kira believes in MCT’s mission to provide accessible, meaningful artistic experiences and to bring people together through storytelling and live performance. She is committed to supporting the theatre’s growth, sustainability, and continued impact in the Marshfield community.
Sarah Inman - Board Secretary
Sarah has loved theatre since her 7-year-old acting debut as Zuzu in “It’s a Wonderful Life”. Since then, she has had an undeniable passion for the art of theatrical productions. Sarah and her husband Nicholas founded “Lamp of Liberty Productions” in 2018 and have produced several productions including “Dear Mrs. Lincoln” starring Emmy nominated actress Michael Learned and Lorenzo Lamas. Sarah serves on several non-profit boards but is most passionate about “Zuzu’s House” a resource center for vulnerable women in our area.
Sarah is a certified elementary school teacher, a real estate broker and owns and operates an Airbnb at The Dickey House, one of the oldest and most historical structures in Webster County.
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys volunteering with the Springfield Little Theatre Guild and other community organizations.
Rachel Salsig - Board Treasurer
Rachel Salsig is an Accounting Specialist with over 13 years of experience in financial operations and 10 years of prior experience as an Office Manager. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Administrative Management and brings strong expertise in budgeting, financial reporting, and organizational oversight.
She serves as Treasurer for the nonprofit theatre and also supports productions through box office, concessions, and props. Rachel’s connection to theatre began in college through elective coursework and stage crew work, and she remains actively involved in her community as a band parent with the Marshfield schools and a Hope Kids leader (K–5) at Hope Church in Springfield.
Fun fact: She first got involved in theatre by helping behind the scenes for her kids, and it just grew from there.
Angie Hoffman - President Ex-Officio
Angie serves as the Administrative Director of Audit & Compliance at CoxHealth, where she oversees audit and compliance initiatives to ensure accurate medical record documentation, appropriate billing practices, and adherence to healthcare regulations. She is a Certified Professional Coder (AAPC) and holds a certification in Healthcare Compliance (HCCA), bringing a strong foundation of regulatory knowledge and attention to detail to her work. Her role involves extensive medical record review, collaboration with clinical and administrative teams, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity within healthcare operations.
In addition to her professional career, Angie is deeply involved in community service and leadership. She previously served as Vice President of the Springfield AAPC chapter, supporting professional development and engagement within the local healthcare compliance and coding community.
Angie has been involved with Marshfield Community Theatre since 2017, contributing both on and off the stage. Her involvement includes serving on the MCT Board of Directors for a total of four years—two years as a general board member, one year as Vice President, and one year as President—and she currently serves as President Ex-Officio. Beyond board service, she has supported the organization in a variety of roles, including properties manager and production manager, house manager, box office support, and ensemble performer. What began as a way to involve her children in the community evolved into a personal passion. Theatre provides a creative outlet, an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day stresses of professional life, and a meaningful way to connect with others while helping bring stories to life.
Sharon Day - Board Member
Sharon Day is an enthusiastic advocate for living life with joy, fun and smiles. Her personal qualities will bring engaging support to Marshfield Community Theatre (MCT), our Theatre with a Heart, as she begins her first year as a member of the MCT board. With nearly four decades of experience in nonprofit leadership and community engagement, Sharon brings a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and enthusiasm to her role. Her commitment to fostering the performing arts in Marshfield will help support people of all ages, from kids building an interest of theater to adults “acting” upon their bucket-list item to be on stage, to patrons enjoying the many talents of a small community.
Sharon holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Southwest Missouri State University (Missouri State University) as well as a certified public accountant license. Before joining the MCT board, she served several years as a volunteer coordinator for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life-Marshfield and currently serves as treasurer for the Marshfield Optimist Club.
As a board member, Sharon is responsible for strategic planning, fundraising, and outreach. She works closely with fellow board members and volunteers to ensure that the theater remains a vibrant and inclusive space for audiences and performers alike. Sharon is especially enthusiastic about supporting youth theater initiatives and mentoring emerging artists.
Outside of her work with MCT, Sharon enjoys working, once again, in her hometown and loves to spend family time with kids and grandkids, create crochet and quilt projects, fly-fish, kayak and spend pre-retirement time on the White River with her supporting actor in life, husband Noel. She and Noel are both graduates of Marshfield High School as well as their four children. In addition to these activities, creating last-time-for-the-first-time memories, aka LTFTFTs, is at the fore-front of everyday living as well as encouraging others to do the same. She believes that the arts are essential to building strong communities and is proud to contribute to Marshfield’s cultural landscape, creating life-long memories for all, youngsters especially, which may not have an opportunity, otherwise. It is because of two of her grandchildren’s involvement in theater which encouraged her to audition with MCT to fill a 47-year-old bucket list item to perform on stage.
Sharon looks forward to her journey with Marshfield Community Theatre, helping the organization grow and thrive for years to come.
Melissa Mall - Board Member
Melissa Mall is a writer, musician, and community advocate who has called Marshfield home for over a decade. The publisher of the weekly online "GO! Marshfield Neighborhood Newsletter," Melissa regularly spends time keeping her neighbors connected. She's determined to bring her skills to the MCT Board to help tell the theatre’s story to a wider audience.
Music and education are at the center of Melissa’s daily life. She serves as the director of her church choir and is a longtime flute player. When she isn't writing or directing music, she is homeschooling her three youngest children, who have been active in Marshfield Community Theatre’s youth programs since 2021. After years of cheering from the wings, Melissa stepped onto the stage herself last summer, appearing in Legally Blonde: the Musical.
In 2024, Melissa graduated from the inaugural class of Leadership Marshfield. She's passionate about the growth and future of our town and believes that community theatre is one of the best ways to bring people together. To that end, she is committed to ensuring MCT remains a place where every family in Webster County can find a creative home.
Nico Jenkins - Board Member
Nico has been a fan of MCT for several years, attending shows to support friends and occasionally reposting audition announcements. Last summer, however, he finally joined the MCT family when he auditioned for "Legally Blonde". Since then, he has been onstage or helping out from the sidelines, and soon he will be directing with MCT for the first time! Before MCT, Nico was involved in every show he could get his hands on with Fair Grove High school, and appeared in a collection of one act shows with Missouri State University. In the last 10 years, Nico has appeared on stage in 23 productions and has been backstage for countless more.
Nico Jenkins is an aspiring speech and theatre educator. Currently he attends Missouri State University and serves as the Vice President of the Student Speech and Theatre Association of Missouri. Before college, he attended Fair Grove High School and spent most of his time working on one production or another, serving as President of the Speech and Debate team and competing at area tournaments.
Outside of theatre, Nico has served in student government, and founded student organizations focused on inclusion and activism in both in high school and on his college campus. While Nico is aspiring to be a teacher, he still has a few years of classes to attend before that dream will become a reality. In the meantime, he has been climbing the ladder at the McDonalds he has worked at for almost 5 years, and is currently a shift manager!
Nico has always prided himself on his ability to curate and foster an inclusive and creative energy in any organization or mission he is a part of. He aims to bring a fresh and diverse perspective to the MCT board and learn from the more experienced members of the board and steal some of their expertise. He is so incredibly grateful to have been given so many opportunities with MCT and he can't wait to see how this organization will grow in the coming year!

marketing@marshfieldtheatre.org
Kelby Lorenz serves as the Marketing & Membership Chair for Marshfield Community Theatre, bringing nearly a decade of marketing leadership and nonprofit strategy experience to the organization. Kelby has spent the last three years working in the nonprofit sector as a marketing leader, following earlier roles as a digital marketing specialist and content writer in the higher education and insurance industries. He also works as a nonprofit marketing consultant, helping local organizations strengthen their missions through strategic communications.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Public Relations from Lindenwood University, Kelby returned to the theatre that helped shape him as an artist and storyteller. He later completed a master’s degree in Communication from Drury University, intentionally focusing on nonprofit leadership—training that now informs his strategic, development-minded approach to serving MCT.
Kelby’s history with Marshfield Community Theatre goes back to 2003, when he appeared in The Wizard of Oz as a child. Since then, he has been involved in more than 50 productions both onstage and behind the scenes, contributing as a performer, leader, and advocate for accessible community arts.
With a passion for mission-driven storytelling, Kelby brings expertise in marketing, fundraising strategy, audience engagement, and long-term organizational vision. Toni Lorenz - Development
development@marshfieldtheatre.org
A lifelong resident of Webster County and a proud Marshfield Bluejay alumna, Toni Lorenz brings deep community roots and decades of dedication to her role as Development Director for Marshfield Community Theatre (MCT). Her involvement with MCT began more than 22 years ago through her son, Kelby, who currently serves as MCT’s Marketing and Membership Director, and has grown into a lasting commitment to the organization and the arts.
Over the years, Toni has supported Marshfield Community Theatre in countless capacities, working behind the scenes in roles too numerous to name, serving on the Board of Directors, and in recent years stepping into directing and performing on stage. Her broad experience within the organization gives her a well-rounded perspective and a strong understanding of both the creative and operational needs of a community theatre.
Passionate about service and leadership, Toni continually seeks to strengthen her knowledge of nonprofit organizations through nonprofit board education and certification, as well as by attending nonprofit networking events to expand collaboration and community partnerships. Volunteering has always been a central part of her life. During 17 years of involvement in her children’s schools, she served in many leadership roles, including Chair of Band Boosters, Chair of Project Grad, and as a founding member and treasurer of what is now the Marshfield Blue Jay Boosters.
In addition to her civic involvement, Toni has served in numerous ministry roles and currently holds the position of Women’s Ministry Director at First Baptist Church. She also serves as a committee chair on the Cherry Blossom Festival Auxiliary, further reflecting her commitment to community engagement.
Toni brings strong skills in fundraising, event planning, organizational development, and creative problem-solving, often approaching challenges as a “fixer” who thinks outside the box. She firmly believes the arts play a crucial role in individual lives by offering opportunities to create, entertain, and connect with others. A thriving arts community, she believes, adds lasting value by attracting families, strengthening relationships, and encouraging business growth within the community.
