Marshfield Community Theatre Heats Up the Stage with “Sizzling Summer” Variety Show

Marshfield, MO – July 21, 2025 – Marshfield Community Theatre (MCT) is turning up the heat this weekend with Heart of the Stage: Sizzling Summer, an all-ages variety show packed with talent, laughter, and heart. The event will take place Saturday, July 26 at 7:00 p.m. at the Jubilee Theater Center in Marshfield.

Blending music, dance, comedy, and more, Sizzling Summer features a mix of performances from MCT’s Elementary, Middle School, and Adult Performance Troupes, along with appearances by community performers. Audiences can expect everything from Broadway belting to heartfelt solos, original comedic acts, and theatre magic—all woven together in a fast-paced, high-energy evening of entertainment.

“This show is pure fun,” said Kelby Lorenz, an event organizer. “It’s one of the few nights where our stage becomes a creative playground—where you might hear a showtune one minute and a comedy act the next. The variety allows us to showcase the immense talent of our community and provide opportunities to showcase their creative sides.”

Among the featured acts are Brandy Rice and Crystal Hilton in an original skit, vocal performances from Ethan Brower and the Shaw Family, and seasoned performers like Gary Coday, who will bring flair and laughter through music and stand-up. Also featured are the adult and Pyxis dance teams from True North Movement, plus an upbeat duet by MCT regulars Kelby Lorenz and Brendan DePriest.

“This isn’t your typical variety show,” said Lorenz. “It’s a community celebration. The mix of ages, the creative acts—it all comes together in a super fun way, and we’re excited to share it.”

In addition to the on-stage performances, Sizzling Summer will feature interactive games and audience engagement throughout the evening. Concessions and boutique items will be on sale to benefit MCT’s ongoing programming.

The show is part of MCT’s Heart of the Stage fundraising series, which supports the theatre’s educational initiatives, scholarships, and annual productions. With every ticket purchased, audience members help ensure that community theatre continues to thrive in the Marshfield area.

Tickets for Sizzling Summer are available now at marshfieldtheatre.org/tickets, with general admission seating. The performance will run approximately 90 minutes, including intermission, and is appropriate for all ages.
